A parabolic trough solar collector is a line-focus solar concentrating heat collection device. It concentrates sunlight by means of parabolic trough reflectors and tracks the sun in real time via a single-axis tracking mechanism. Solar radiant energy is focused onto the vacuum receiver tube at the focal line, heating the heat transfer fluid inside the tube to realize the conversion of solar energy into thermal energy.

A trough solar collector mainly consists of parabolic trough reflectors, vacuum receiver tubes, steel structural supports, single-axis tracking systems (drivers, sensors and controllers), connecting pipelines, thermal insulation materials and measurement & control instruments. Each concentrator is equipped with an independent solar sensor and controller, enabling individual attitude adjustment without interfering with other units.
